What is happening now to our young African-American men is reminiscent of the lynchings of young African-American males in the south. People slain with no remorse and no justice.

The term “achievement gap” doesn’t describe or address the difference in our society between minorities and the privileged.

If you want to see real change with low-income and minority children, you have to face the whole problem. Education reform, as it is called, is just putting a pretty, and expensive, bandage on a tumor. The only people who “win” are the ones who make the most money but at the cost of our children’s futures.
