For the news and views you might have missed
From the NPE Conference webpage:
On Friday night, April 15, 2016, education advocates from around the country will begin gathering in Raleigh, North Carolina for NPE’s 3rdAnnual National Conference which will run from Saturday morning, April 16th until Sunday afternoon, April 17.
Aligned with the theme, And Justice for All: Strengthening Public Education for Each Child, keynote speakers and workshop presenters will tackle the challenges facing our students and schools as we all work towards achieving a more just system of public education in America.
One of the panels I will be participating in is Blogging and Other Tools to Educate, Persuade and Mobilize Targeted Audiences on Saturday Apr 16, 2016.
The description is:
With much of the mass media owned by education reformers and many reporters who consider “education” to be a secondary issue, bloggers, columnists and commentary writers are on the front line in the effort to educate, persuade and mobilize parents, teachers and the public about the corporate education reform industry’s efforts to undermine public education. This session, moderated by blogger Jonathan Pelto, includes four of the nation’s leaders in the effort to use blogging and social media to successfully fight back against the money and power of charter school owners and their allies.
Hopefully I will see some of you at the conference.
If you can’t make it, the panels will be live streamed at schoolhouselive.org.
